Euge and I went to Trinoma for dinner. I introduced him OWSA's fave Greek resto, Cyma. We headed to Timezone right after. We played Deal or No Deal and won 51 tickets. hehehe! Then we passed by the Match Maker Machine, the new coin operated relationship compatibility and romance advice game, allows users to test their compatibility with their significant other by simply entering both their and their romantic partner’s names and birth dates into the 17 inch touch screen monitor. The game tabulates the information and dispenses a colorful printout containing the couple’s compatibility profile, weekly romance advice and a special lucky day and lucky number tip of the week. I'm kinda curious about it and gave it a try. :)

Mamma Mia!: A Girl Power Musical

I'm a huge fan of broadway. Good thing, my gurlfriends agreed to watch it last saturday on our reunion.

The movie tells about the story of a girl who invites her mom's three ex-lovers-suspected-fathers-of-sophie to her wedding. I'm not gonna be a spoiler to tell you the whole story here,besides, im not in the mood. But i can tell you that you'll never regret watching this gurl power musical coz it will not bore you, the characters will sing your favorite Abba Songs every 10 minutes. And, the movie has full of choreography and dancing which i love. Not to mention, Pierce Brosnan is still superrr hot! whew!


Anyway, i enjoyed watching Mamma Mia, especially, I'm with my OWSA gurlfriends, truly a Girl Power moment!

What a "Greek" day!

Oh I am so excited to write about this.

July 19, reunion with my high school friends --The O.W.S.A. (Sorry but the meaning of this is a real TOP secret! lol!) --lie (the goddess), cija (the princess), kaye (the queen), ryle (the duchess), rachelle (the baby), bem (the vamp) and I (the empress).

The Meet up

We decided to meet up coz of five reasons:

1. To celebrate our 10th year anniversary.
2. Its the goddess' bienvenida!!! She migrated in Spain and now she's here on a vacation.
3. Bem's despedida. (umm.. coz she's staying in Cebu for good and she's leaving on August)
4. To formally announce rachelle's wedlock on December 27. (oh..our baby has now a baby, our pretty inaanak Mischa!)
5. Because we TERRIBLY MISS EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!

Meeting place: UST, our memorable royal and pontifical alma mater. That's were we became friends.

Call Time: (supposed to be) meet up for breakfast, 10am.

Rylie and I are nocturnals,we hate mornings. We cant wake up early. Our friends are expecting us to be, as usual-LATE. But unexpectedly, we turned out to be the early birdies... arrrggrrrr!!! For the first time in OWSA history, no grand entrance for the both of us.

We arrived at 11am. Then cij came after 10minutes. A few minutes more, kaye arrived, then the star of the show, Lie (with her prince charming/photog freddy) , then the Late Bem came(hehe!). We're going to shangrila mall. Rach will just follow us there as she has to attend some mommy errands.

Having Brunch at CYMA

Our breakfast meeting turned out as Brunch meeting. We are all starving and Ryle suggested to eat at, CYMA Greek Taverna, its a fine dining Greek inspired restaurant at 6th level Shangrila Mall. It was my second time to eat an authentic Greek cuisine. The first time was when i was in Malaysia, i had a greek friend there who's also a chef who celebrated his bday with us and cooked real greek food for us.

Greek food is amazing, unconventional, it tastes different but.. SUPER DELICIOUS. Going back at CYMA, here's what we have ordered: INDULGE!!!!!!!!!!

Our appetizer: Seared Salmon and sardine salad, with black olives, lettuce, tomatoes and onions

I ordered Lamb Chops with rice stuffed on pepper and potatoes. Rach arrived at 12.30pm and she ordered this one too. yum! yum!

Grilled Salmon in olive oil and lemon sauce for Cija

Lamb Gyro, with roasted potatoes on the side for bem and rylie

Baked Macaroni the Greek way, with extra thick cheese on top for Kaye

And for our Dessert, Choco melt down with vanilla ice cream

Shopping with my girlfriends

After lunch, we bought tickets for Mamma Mia, oh well, a Greek Movie! Show starts at 3.50pm. It's still 2pm, a bit early, so we decided to go shopping first. We bought a small dress for our beautiful inaanak Mischa at the pink gurly girl shop (forgot the name).

Then rachelle suggested to buy something (it can be a shoe, a dress, a jewelry) that has one design for all of us. So we went around Top Shop, Celine, Marks and Spencer etc, tried different stuff, shoes, bags, and clothes. But still we couldnt decide on what to buy. Until we tried MANGO (my favorite), there we finally compromised on one "Lady" shirt. May pasaway lang, Kaye didnt want to buy it.hmf! i dunno with her, she just dont want or she's just too stubborn (hehe!). Rach is leaving for work in awhile,and Mamma Mia will start at 3.50pm. No more time to argue with Kaye anymore. :)

Watching a greek movie - Mamma Mia

Then we hurried back to the cinema to watch Mamma Mia. The setting is in Greece. Of course, kinilig nanaman ako kay Pierce Brosnan. Im always a fan of broadway, i actually played the role of Rosie in ABSCBN Comm Arts adaptation of Mamma Mia. It was fun watching it with your girlfriends.

Coffee Break

After the movie, we had a few cups and chitchat in starbucks. I remember Kaye and Cija were on the hot seat. Im not allowed to tell here what we have talked about. lol!
Basta, both of them want to leave at 8pm. Cij, is living a healthy lifestyle, she has to leave at 8pm coz she has to sleep at 9pm. She has to sleep early coz she jogs every sunday morning. While Kaye has to leave because... ummm... hehehe!!! natatawa ako, wait.. ummm... i really cant tell it here.. lets just say, she still have to attend a debut.

Crisis

Cija left early. Bem,ryle,lie,freddy and i went to megamall. After 20 minutes, cij called, and told us that she lost her wallet. So ryle and bem hurried back to starbucks shangrila to check on it while lie, me and freddy waited for cija in megamall.

Good thing her wallet is still there. It was a relief for all of us.

Tagaytay plans

That night, we "spontaneously" planned to go to Tagaytay. That's why we went straight to ryle's dad's place and borrowed her dad's Crosswind.

Meeting our Julalays

Julalay is an OWSA term meaning "boyfriend". lol! Ryle drove us to pick up our stuff and our boyfriends. We picked up JR in Borromeo and Euge in Blumentritt.

Junk Dinner

We planned to have dinner in Tag but its past 12mn and we couldnt hold our tummies anymore. That's why we decided to have dinner at McDo SLEX. pff.. junk food!

Spending a night in Tag

Sinulit na namin ang time with Lie. We arrived in Tagaytay at 2am. We checked in at a very nice, cozy and cheap apartelle. The place is not bad at 650 bucks per head. It has 4 beds, a sala with cable tv, a kitchen with fridge, a lavatory with hot/cold shower and a swimming pool outside. Sorry for being selfidh but Im not gonna tell you the name of the place. Ok, clue: its just near the "Greek Taverna". hmmm.. I can say that this is really a Greek Day!

Bonding till dawn

We bonded til 5am except for ryle, jr and euge... they slept at 3.30 am. Lie and freddy slept at 4.30 and Bem and i slept at around 5am. Wala lang, we just talked about our past, bem's date experiences, Lie's Spaincapades and ryle's complicated whirlwind romance. lol!

No more camwhoring in Tag

They woke up at around 7am. While i, as usual, woke up last. We had breakfast at 8am and left Tag at 9. It was fun! fun! fun! Though we weren't able to take good photos since all our cam batteries are empty.

The OWSA blog does not end here. We still have to meet on Thursday at the La Sema Spa in Jupiter Makati at around 5pm. Sooo sooo excited!

Travel Tips

I've been traveling alot, I'm lovin' it! And as a certified travelista, I guess, its time for me to share some tips for first time travelers.

Research: Search everything about the place-- Food, shopping malls, weather condition, tourist spots, religion and even crime rates for your safety.

The earlier, the cheaper: If you want a cheap ticket, book them as early as possible. Also, take advantage on special rates and promos.

If your traveling locally, try doing it buy land or by sea: This is cost effective and more fun! Instead of spending thousands on your flight, save it for more travel explorations like diving, shopping, etc. Traveling by land is a big adventure, its unpredictable, you don't know what and who you meet on your way. Just don't travel alone, and make sure that the car is in good condition. Travel on convoy just in case you have a backup when your caught on an emergency situation (like flat tire). Traveling by sea, is also cheaper than air flights, its more relaxing, you get to see more of the sea, the underwater creatures and the sunset. When your traveling by sea to visayas and mindanao area, it will take you 24 to 48 hrs, so you have to alot extra days when you do this.

Having a map/travel book is a must: Maps are googable. You can print them for free online. This is important especially if you don't have a tourist guide and you are on for an adventure ala Amazing Race. My boyfriend and i usually do this. We travel spontaneously, we dont want tourist guides. Group tours are ok with me but it gets us more excited when we explore the place on our own. We have travel books anyway.

Philippine Embassy, home away from home: Make sure you know where the embassy is, just in case you guys get in trouble, you know where to run.

Passport: Have them photocopied and put them in your luggage. Just in case you lost the original one, you have a spare proof that you have a valid passport.

Go light with your baggage: In my case, i only bring necessary things. i dont bring too much clothes. For example, on a one week getaway. I only bring a pair of long pants and three pairs of short pants, three shirts, one dress (for attending cocktails), three pairs of bikinis (if its a beach get away) and of course 7 pairs of undies. And instead of bringing big bottled toiletries (shampoo, facial wash, sunblock, moisturizer, toothpaste etc), i put them on smaller bottles or buy sachets to save space. But i always make sure that i'll be bringing a big luggage with me to have more space for my shopping. I also have my name and contact details on it in case of loss.

First aid: Dont forget your medicines, vitamins and first aid kit, in case of emergency.

Don't forget your credit cards or travel cheques: Just in case you ran out of cash. Also its not advisable to bring lots of cash. Just a few amount, and distribute it on each of your pockets or bags.

Last but not the least, Do not forget your DSLR and videocam: nuff said! :)

American idol David Cook and ex-idol-now-using-david-to-get-back-to-the-limelight, Kimberly Caldwell. Sila na!!! OMG!!! Idol winner + Idol loser. They dont look good together. He's just getting started, and having a relationship will lessen he's market value. How selfish could kim be. She's such a smartass to use DC. arggghh... ok, ok..in short, im jealous and im dead. I hope "my Cookie's" not serious.

Philippine Fashion Week 2008

As a true blue fashionista, I was invited to attend the Philippine Fashion Week 2008 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia last May. It was my first time and practically, if you're really into fashion, you shouldn't miss this event. Expect that there will be numerous fashion critics. So... First thing's first. Choose an outstanding outfit that's fit for the budget.

It says in the invitation semi-formal, so i hurried to Zara in Shangrila Mall to buy a new dress. I was choosing between colors black, white, and red. Black is really classic but i guess, 80% of the audience would go on black. And I don't think i can carry white dresses, clumsy me, i don't think i could keep it clean and "unstainable" for the whole evening. So i chose my favorite color: RED!!! With matching Russian Red lipstick from MAC. :p

Since it was my first time to attend a big fashion show event, i was surprised. It's more than watching FTV. OMG! I feel great meeting different top designers, beautiful and really (ehem!) tall models and all these fashion enthusiasts. I even saw my local fave icon -- Tessa Prieto-Valdez. Oh i so love her guts, she's full of freedom. Take a look at her photo below with Victor Ortega (Chief MUA of Artistry).

At the end of the show, i realized that Filipinos make good designs, they are naturally artistic, its a world class talent, which made me really proud.

Starting a new blog

i miss blogging, its been a year since i last wrote in cyberspace.

im 24, im getting old, bye bye to that super party animal in me. i have to get more serious in life. there are so many changes.

There are alot of surprising and unexpected success:

1) i just graduated Makeup artistry at the Center For Aesthetic Studies, Franck Provost Bldg, Makati city. i didnt plan to get a degree in beauty. i just thought of it and voila! hehehe!

2)my online boutique www.poshandglam.com and www.poshandglam.multiply.com has now a physical store located at 109 Panay ave. QC. i also live there.. alone. yep, my own comfort zone at last.

3)i exclusively distribute "Elegant Minerals" here in the Philippines. Elegant Minerals is the best natural mineral makeup brand established in Texas,USA.

4)of course,i will never leave my first love---SINGING. i still have gigs around the metro and invites in different events. But i miss singing on a five star hotel. Probably will get a gig in Heritage Hotel on the last quarter. (Thanks to Kuya Frankie and Ate Grace.)

5)and yes! im engaged. guess who's the lucky guy? :)
